Blondes vs. Brunettes #11- Words of Encouragement

Words of encouragement or how come we always root for you know who?  I mean, you don't hear folks saying, "C'mon brunette, let's go!"  It's always the blonde that gets the words of encouragement.

name may always remain a mystery. 

For example, take this brief clip from the 1940 movie "Boom Town" starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert.  The scene has them both at a gambling table and before long, this pushy blonde played by Marion Martin shows up and starts harassing Gable and Colbert, as if it's any of her business who Clark is gambling with, even though I'm pretty sure Gable was poking Martin earlier in the movie, well you know how women get. 

Then this level headed brunette steps in and tries to defuse the situation and winds up getting  slapped in the face for her efforts by you know who. Of course her response is to go straight for that head full of blonde hair and off they go in a classic catfight.

OK, no problem, let's all sit back and enjoy the show except that one guy gets our attention when he yells "Give it to her blondie!"

Say what?

Why is this dude rooting for the blonde?

Too bad the scene cuts back to Gable and Colbert so we don't know who won the fight (but blondie looked pretty tough) but I did like Colbert's line "Tell me when you've had enough."

I have no idea who played the role of the brunette, but Martin was in a number of movies over the years and fought a different gal in a movie called "Penthouse Rhythm".  I have no idea if it was a blonde or a brunette she fought. I'll let y'all know if I find out.

Shift gears completely to a ring full of mud in Sturgis and here we go again with that classic matchup where a blonde and a brunette are battling each other. 


And, yes, the little blonde did take down
 the bigger brunette

And the guy in the background yells, "Take her down little blondie!" 

So there we are, rooting for the blondes again.

Why I ask, why?

Why?

Because

... wait for it ...

WE'RE ALL FASCINATED WITH BLONDES, THAT'S WHY!!  THEY DRIVE US CRAZY AND THAT'S WHY YOU'RE CHECKING OUT THIS BLOG ISN'T IT??
